DU’s Pharmacy Faculty makes hand sanitiser for its students
The faculty plans to make 500 bottles of it daily and provide them free of cost
The Pharmacy Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) has started making hand sanitiser for its residential students – in response to the product being sold-out on the market due to coronavirus panic-buying.
"The faculty is planning to make 500 bottles of it every day and these will be provided free of cost," said Professor Dr Sitesh Chandra Bachar, chairman of the Pharmacy Department.
"Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman requested us to make hand sanitiser to meet the needs of the students. He assured us that he will provide funds to do it," Bachar said.

Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman told The Business Standard that the administration requested the faculty members produce the hand sanitiser. "It is definitely an initiative to be appreciated. I will provide all the help to them," he said.
"We are always aware of the emergency needs of our students," he said.
