BB resets prices of commemorative gold and silver coins
The Bangladesh Bank has reset the prices of commemorative gold and silver coins citing a price hike of the metals in local and international markets.
The prices of gold coins issued on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day 2000, Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh's independence have been increased to Tk78,000 each.
Besides, the prices of silver coins which were issued marking the Silver Jubilee of Bangladesh' independence, silver jubilee of Bangladesh Bank, inauguration of Bangabandhu Bridge, 40th Victory Day of Bangladesh, 90 years of "Bidrohi" poem, 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Thagore, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, centennial commemoration of Bangladesh National Museum, Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence have been hiked to Tk5000 each.
Also, the price of the silver coin which was issued on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-Japan diplomatic relations has remained the same to Tk5000.
