Don't listen to rumours setting trap for stock investors: BSEC chair
Money grabbers set traps by spreading rumors to steal stock market investors' money, so they should not pay any heed to rumours, said the chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on 20 January.
There will be no more problems in the stock market if investors acquire financial literacy needed to conduct activities in the stock market, said Professor Shibli Rubyat Ul Islam at the "Investors Literacy Conference" in a convention center in Sylhet on 20 January.
BSEC, Bangladesh Academy for Capital Markets and Capital Market Stabilisation Fund jointly organised the programme.
Chief guest at the programme, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad said, "Sylhet lags behind in investment. People in this region do not get the advice or education they need to invest. Investment is our deposit, so everyone expects returns by investing. Investing wisely will reduce the risk."
Tahmin Ahmed, president of Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "We the people of Sylhet like to make investments. After this conference, the residents of Sylhet will be more interested in investing in the capital market."
