Marriage of an expat stopped in Dhaka over coronavirus
The groom has been sent to home-quarantine
The novel coronavirus has already ruined many weddings across the world after it started spreading since December last year. The virus has sent whole wedding industry in total turmoil.
In Bangladesh, wedding ceremony of an American expatriate was stopped by police as a precautionary step to stop spreading of coronavirus on Wednesday at its capital, Somoy TV reports.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Assistant Police Commissioner (Gulshan zone) Ishtiak Ahmed said, "The families of the US expatriate groom and bride arranged their wedding as the groom did not have any symptoms of the virus after returning from America last week."
However, on information about the wedding ceremony has been arranged at a community centre at Banani in the capital, police rushed to the spot before arrival of the groom party and stopped the programme.
The groom has been sent to home-quarantine.
