Momen holds meeting with Indian Foreign Minister
He also had bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of Brazil, Mexico, Slovenia and Sweden in India
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen held a meeting with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar in New Delhi, the capital city of India, on Friday.
"During the time, they discussed various issues of bilateral interest," reads a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both the Ministers also expressed satisfaction at the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Momen attended the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting there on Thursday.
On the sideline of the meeting, Momen also held bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Brazil, Mexico, Slovenia and Sweden on Friday.
During the meetings, they discussed the issues of mutual interest in order to deepen bilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on the ongoing geopolitical issues and enhancing multilateral cooperation, including in the United Nations.
Later, Momen sought active support from those countries in addressing the Rohingya crisis, including through their early repatriation from Bangladesh to Myanmar.
"Mexico would open their Diplomatic Mission in Dhaka soon," the Mexico Foreign Minister told his Bangladesh counterpart.
He is expected to leave New Delhi this evening.
