IDLC launches month-long food distribution programme for corona-hit people

The IDLC Finance Limited on Saturday launched the month-long essential food distribution programme for low-income people and the daily wage-earners in different parts of the country.
In this regard, five other local voluntary and development organisations also partnered with IDLC to implement this humanitarian project, said a press release on Saturday.
The partnering organisations— Ovizatrrik foundation, Sajeda foundation, CSR Window Bangladesh, Shomvabona and Alokito Shishu—detected neglected areas of 12 districts, including some slums in the Dhaka and Chattogram to render this service.

Under this programme, about 7,500 low-income families or around 30,000 people will be provided with foods.
Initially, people form Dhaka, Chattogram, Potuakhali, Bhola, Chuadanga, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Mymenshing, Brammanbaria, Hobiganj and Sylhet districts are getting this facility.
Arif Khan, chief executive officer and managing director of IDLC Finance Limited said, "The economy of our country highly depends on the daily wage earners. But they are hard hit by the coronavirus outbreak because they now have no jobs to do."
"We are happy to help these affected people during the ongoing global crisis," he added.
