Satkhira District Jail authorities sent three prisoners with fever to the isolation ward at the prison hospital on Thursday.
Dr Saifullah Al Kafi, officer at district jail, said three prisoners were sent to the isolation ward as they got fever.
They will be transferred to their respective cells after recovery, he added.
Jail Superintendent Kamrul Islam said they have taken necessary precautions.
The district jail, capable of holding 400 prisoners, currently contains 530 prisoners – 16 of them women.
Overcrowded prisons are at high risk of coronavirus outbreak.
On Thursday, Bangladesh announced detection of 112 new cases and one death. So far, the country has recorded 330 cases and 21 deaths.
