One held with 1.6 kg gold at HSIA

Dhaka Custom House Preventive Team arrested a female passenger with 1.605 kilograms (kg) of gold including bars, ornaments and gold pieces at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here in the early hours of today (13 October).
The detainee is Ferdowsi Ara, a Dubai-return passenger as well as a resident of Jaipur village of Chagalnaiya police station in Feni district.
Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner (DC) Preventive Team Syed Mokaddes Hossain confirmed the matter to BSS today.
As suspicion was raised, the preventive team challenged her and found those gold items in her luggage at around 12 am today, airport sources said.

The estimated market value of these gold items is about Taka 1.60 crore.
A case under criminal law was filed with the DMP airport police station in this regard alongside handing over Ferdowsi Ara to the police station concerned.
