DAB organises human chain for Khaleda Zia's treatment abroad
The Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), a BNP-backed doctors' organisation, formed a human chain outside the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday to demand Khaleda Zia's treatment abroad.
More than a hundred doctors participated in the event, which commenced at 11am.
Addressing the gathering, DAB Central President Professor Dr Harun Al Rasheed, said Khaleda Zia is currently under house arrest as a result of a politically motivated case.
He expressed concern, stating, "Non-political doctors have held press conferences asserting that there is no adequate treatment available for Khaleda Zia within the country, advocating for her treatment abroad. Given the government's current approach, her health is at serious risk, and any unforeseen incident could occur at any moment. I implore that, before any untoward incident transpires, she be released for treatment abroad. Should this plea be disregarded, the government must be prepared to bear the consequences of any public outrage."
Following the human chain, the participants joined the mass hunger strike organised by Dhaka Metropolitan South and North BNP in Nayapaltan, held the same demand.
