Section 144 withdrawn in Barishal after freedom fighter’s funeral held sans gathering

Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) has withdrawn the Section 144 from the city after the funeral of a freedom fighter, who is also the elder brother of the city unit president of Awami League, was held without any gathering.
BMP Police Commissioner Md Shahbuddin gave the withdrawal order around 7 pm.
Freedom fighter Md Harun Ar Rashid died in the capital's Evercare Hospital this morning. Harun's younger brother Shawkat Hossain Hiron is also the former mayor of Barishal city.
To avoid a mass gathering, a big number of police officials were deployed in front of Shawkat Hossein's house, on the Nuria school ground and outside the Muslim burial ground, said Shahbuddin.
According to the deceased's relatives, the Harun's body arrived in the school ground around 4 pm and the Namaz-e-Janaz was held around 4.30 pm.
Only 20 to 25 family members took part in the Namaz-e-Janaza complying with the directives from the administration.
