Bangladesh becomes connectivity hub for stability in last 15 years: Momen

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said Bangladesh is now a connectivity hub as there has been peace and stability in the country for the past 15 years.
"Because there has been peace and stability in our country for the past 15 years, we have developed, and our neighbors have also developed. We have become a connectivity hub," he said at the launch of a publication titled "Success Stories of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019-2023)" at the Foreign Service Academy yesterday.
He mentioned that he gave three policy packages to the foreign ministry after becoming a minister: economic diplomacy, public diplomacy, and regional peace and stability.
Momen said the government is determined to overcome whatever challenges it faces.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam highlighted Bangladesh's achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He, however, acknowledged two unfinished tasks – repatriation of the Rohingyas safely and bringing back killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur.
"These two are very complex and challenging tasks," said Shahriar.
Awami League MP Mohammad A Arafat said Bangladesh's geopolitical importance has grown and many countries are willing to build strategic relations with Bangladesh.
"Super powers have keen eyes on Bangladesh. We have seen diversification of our friendship," he said, adding that Bangladesh is making a balance smartly.
The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute's distinguished fellow Farooq Sobhan said Bangladesh's presence has been enhanced globally and the country's economic diplomacy has been strengthened. He however focused on diaspora diplomacy.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen also spoke among others.
