Eminent historian Professor Muntassir Mamoon has been diagnosed with Covid-19 positive. He is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Mugda General Hospital in the capital.
Earlier on Sunday, the Dhaka University professor was hospitalised with symptoms of the Covid-19 and the test result came positive today, the hospital's president of Covid-19 Physicians' Council Dr Moni Lal Aich Litu told The Business Standard.
Muntassir, the professor at the History department of DU, is now undergoing treatment in the ICU. However, his condition is improving and we are thinking of forwarding him to a cabin," said Dr Moni Lal.

Muntassir's mother, who has also been infected with the virus, is undergoing treatment in Kurmitola General Hospita. Muntassir was found negative for Covid-19 when he tested for the virus 10 days back before coming in contact with his mother.
