Muntassir Mamoon shifted to cabin as condition improves
A six-member medical board was formed for his treatment
Eminent historian Professor Muntassir Mamoon has been transferred to the general cabin from the intensive care unit of Mugda General Hospital in the capital.
He was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus on Monday afternoon.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Mugda General Hospital Covid-19 Medical Council President Dr Moni Lal Aich on Tuesday said, "We have transferred him to the cabin as Muntassir Mamoon's physical condition improved."
A six-member medical board was formed for his treatment, he added.
Earlier on Sunday, the Dhaka University professor was hospitalised with symptoms of the Covid-19 and the test result came positive, the hospital's president of Covid-19 Physicians' Council Dr Moni Lal Aich Litu told The Business Standard.
Muntassir's mother, who has also been infected with the virus, is undergoing treatment in Kurmitola General Hospital.
Muntassir was found negative for Covid-19 when he tested for the virus 10 days back before coming in contact with his mother.
