Over 4.40cr people get relief assistance amid COVID-19 crisis
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, as of Saturday, 1 lakh 43 thousand metric tons of rice has been allocated as relief and 1 lakh 11 thousand metric tons have been distributed
Over 4.40 crore people across the country have received relief (as humanitarian assistance) as the government continues its efforts to mitigate their sufferings in the wake of the coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic.
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, as of Saturday, 1 lakh 43 thousand metric tons of rice has been allocated as relief and 1 lakh 11 thousand metric tons have been distributed.
As a result, the number of beneficiary families stands at 98 lakh while the number of beneficiaries is 4.40 crore, an official handout said here today.
Besides, about 80 crore taka has been allocated so far for baby food aid and cash distribution.
Of it, Taka 63 crore 91 lakh 63 thousand has been allocated as cash and of the amount, Taha 50 crore 73 lakh 78 thousand has been distributed.
About Taka 15 crore 94 lakh has been allocated so far for baby food aid and Tk 13 crore 9 lakh 66 thousand has been distributed for the purpose.
As a result, the number of beneficiary families stands at 3 lakh 77 thousand while the number of beneficiaries is 7 lakh 71 thousand.
