Pathao unveils digital healthcare service
Users can also get prescriptions online and order medicines by using the app
With an aim to provide instant healthcare service via the app, the ride-sharing company Pathao has teamed up with digital healthcare solutions Maya and the Praava Health.
The company launched its healthcare service, Pathao Health, on Wednesday through a webinar, said a media statement.
Pathao Health will connect users to Covid-19 trackers online and provide one-on-one medical services through phone and video consultations.
Users can also get prescriptions online and order medicines by using the app.
Hussain M Elius, chief executive officer of Pathao said many people were now afraid of visiting hospitals due to the outbreak of the deadly virus. They now could receive digital health consultations here."
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister of the ICT Division, in this regard, said it was difficult for the government alone to provide online healthcare services during the pandemic.
"Telemedicine saves people's money and time as people do not have to travel to visit a doctor," he said.
Among others, Anir Chowdhury, policy advisor of a2i, Sajid Rahman, co-founder and chief executive officer of Digital Healthcare Solutions, Dr Tangina Sharmeen, medical team lead of Maya, Sylvana Quader Sinha, founder chairman and chief executive officer of Praava Health, and Fahim Ahmed, chief financial officer of Pathao, joined the webinar.
