Misbah asks for huge salary as head coach from PCB

Former Pakistan captain, Misbah-ul-Haq has asked for a salary of 20,000 dollars per month for his job as the head coach of Pakistan team, which is equivalent to that of the recently sacked coach Mickey Arthur.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not extend their contract with Micky Arthur after they failed to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, and are now looking for a new coach. Misbah along with former Pakistan coach Mohsin Khan, Dean Jones, and Courtney Walsh are contenders for the job, but as per sources, Misbah leads the race by a fair margin. But now with his salary demands, the PCB are having second thoughts.
According to the Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune, Misbah has asked for a salary of 20,000 USD (17 lacs BDT) per month for his appointment as head coach. His demands are equivalent to that of Mickey Arthur and the PCB are unwilling to pay this much to someone who has little experience in coaching.

Another problem that has made the situation even foggier is Misbah’s current role as coach of a PSL franchise which he wants to retain. But PCB President Ehsan Mani clearly stated that having dual roles with the national side and the PSL will no longer be possible.
The situation remains unclear for now, but the PCB will look to sort it out soon as Pakistan have a home series against Sri Lanka at the end of September and they would want a head coach by then.
