Script for live-action Naruto movie is completed
Destin Daniel Cretton's live-action Naruto movie has reached a significant milestone with a completed script, promising a "nuanced and special" story about the yellow-haired ninja in training from the Hidden Leaf Village.
The latest update on this highly anticipated adaptation of one of the most iconic anime series comes from an interview with writer Tasha Huo by Entertainment Weekly. Huo revealed that her "script is done" and has been handed over to Cretton, who is both writing and directing the project. With the script now finished, the Naruto movie is moving forward, and Huo expressed optimism about its direction. She trusts Cretton's "very personal and relatable" style, which she finds to be a standout quality in his films.
Huo also mentioned that she believes the director, best known for his work on Marvel's 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' and 2019's 'Just Mercy,' will steer Naruto's story in a direction that avoids delving too deeply into the franchise's already expansive world.
