Those who came to Secretariat disguised as Ansar only wanted to cause unrest: Law adviser
"They demanded issuing a gazette and nationalising them at 10pm. They made such an impossible and unrealistic demand only to cause trouble," he said
Those who came to the Secretariat disguised as members of the Ansar last night (25 August) had no agenda of demands. They wanted to cause unrest, said Dr Asif Nazrul, the law affairs adviser to the interim government.
"You all have seen how cruelly they beat the students who fell a tyranny," he told reporters this morning (26 August) at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after visiting those injured, including Anti-discrimination Student Movement Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah, during the attack by Ansar members.
"They demanded issuing a gazette and nationalising them at 10pm. They made such an impossible and unrealistic demand only to cause trouble," Asif Nazrul added.
"They surrounded the Secretariat to cause trouble. If more of them joined, the situation could have been much worse. But the students prevented that from happening," he added.
