Govt reconstitutes Biman board

The interim government has reconstituted the board of directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, a former adviser to the caretaker government, was made chairman of the board of directors.
On 19 August, Abdul Muyeed was appointed as the new chairman of the national flag carrier after Mustafa Kamal Uddin was relieved from the post.
The 13-member board includes secretary of civil aviation ministry, secretary of finance ministry's Finance Division, chairman of National Board of Revenue, secretary of chief adviser's office, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, engineer-in-chief of Bangladesh Navy, chairman of Association of Bankers Bangladesh, and Biman managing director and CEO (ex-officio).
The board also includes Mahbubur Rahman, president of International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh; Lt Col (retd) Engineer Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury, former director of Biman; Nur-e-Khoda Abdul Mobin, council member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh and Ali Ashraf, managing director and CEO of Emerging Credit Rating Limited.
