Marine Academy invents disinfectant ‘UV Oven’
The use of ultraviolet rays in this device will protect the environment and the human body from the harmful effects of disinfectant chemicals.
The Bangladesh Marine Academy has invented a disinfectant oven to curb the spread of coronavirus. The disinfectant 'UV Oven' will disinfect everyday necessary items such as mobile phones, masks, moneybag etc. in just two minutes.
Md Khaled Uddin, lab instructor of the Marine Academy created this UV disinfectant. He said, "This initiative became successful because of the modern technological environment and encouragement and support given by the head of the institution"
"The face mask is the main tool to prevent spreading of coronavirus. But recently some research has shown that the coronavirus can last up to 7 days in this mask, so the mask needs to be disinfected regularly," he added.
The use of ultraviolet rays in this device will protect the environment and the human body from the harmful effects of disinfectant chemicals. It will also save money on repeated purchase of chemicals.
The functionality of this oven has been multiplied and secured by adding a conventional oven turntable, timer switch and open hatch kill switch feature in it.
Marine Academy Commandant Naval Engineer Sajid Hossain said, "The UV Oven proves the richness and excellence of the modern technical education system of the Academy."
