Humanitarian Assistance for flood victims in Bangladesh
Sri Lanka—Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SLBCCI), in collaboration with Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh (SLAB), came forward to partner with Humanity Foundation (IHF), an active organisation in emergency response programs, to reach out to the victims of the recent floods that swept across many parts of the country.
SLBCCI & SLAB has taken the initiative to provide many life-saving medicines, such as saline, flagyl, napa, etc., for the victims of the devastating flood. Several sanitary kits have also been provided with toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washing powder, Disinfectant liquid, and mosquito nets.
This humanitarian assistance includes individual hygiene packs which contain basic family requirements and specifically consider the current circumstances given due consideration.
Every individual family was covered with a pack of essential medicines, with particular emphasis on avoiding water-bound diseases that can be spread in flood-affected areas.
IHF will carry out the packaging and reach out to the needy in Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, Khagrachari, Rajnagar of Habiganj, and Moulvibazar.
With your support, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by the floods in Bangladesh. In this picture, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Mr Dharmapala Weerakkody, SLBCCI President, Mr Najith Meewanage, General Secretary of SLAB Mr Tharindu Dissanayake, and the respective governing body members of both apex bodies were present at the ceremony to hand over a token of the consignment to Mr Adnan Hossain, founder of IHF, along with the senior officials of the Organisation.
