Murder case filed against Hasina, 35 others in Narayanganj
A murder case was filed last night against 36 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 34 others for killing a man during the recent student-led protests in Chashara, Narayanganj.
The victim's wife Aduri Khatun filed the murder case as the plaintiff at the Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Station Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
The other accused are former minister Obaidul Quader, former MP AKM Shamim Osman, his son Ayan Osman, Shamim Osman's nephew Ajmeri Osman, Narayanganj city Awami League Organizing Secretary Zakirul Alam Bhuiyan Helal and Narayanganj city Jubo League President Shahadat Hossain Sajnu.
According to the FIR, a group of AL leaders and activists on August 5 attacked the students of anti-discrimination student movement in front of the gate of Shaheed Minar of Chashara area in the city. The attackers hurled cocktails and beat them with sharp weapons which injured Badiuzzaman.
Later, the deceased Badiuzzaman was taken to a hospital where an on-duty doctor declared him dead.
