Wahiduddin urges Switzerland to lower tariffs for boosting bilateral trade
Swiss Ambassador Reto Renggli expressed interest in helping Bangladesh tackle various challenges in the economic sector, particularly in the insurance sector
Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has urged Switzerland to reduce tariffs in applicable sectors to enhance bilateral trade.
"We need to expand technical education to enhance productivity and competitiveness in the global market, and Switzerland can play a significant role in assisting us in this area," the adviser said at a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli at the ministry on Sunday (22 September).
Deputy Head of Mission in Dhaka Corinne Henchoz Pignani was also present during the meeting.
The Swiss ambassador informed the adviser about Switzerland's activities concerning human rights, labour laws, and climate change.
He expressed interest in helping Bangladesh tackle various challenges in the economic sector, particularly in the insurance sector, where he sees opportunities for collaboration.
The planning adviser thanked the ambassador for Switzerland's continued support to Bangladesh.
