Afghanistan to host Bangladesh for ODI series in November
The series, scheduled between 6 and 11 November, will serve as a key part of both teams’ preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed that Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this November.
The series was initially planned for July-August but was postponed due to extreme heat in the region. Following Afghanistan's recent 2-1 ODI series win against South Africa, the ACB has rescheduled the matches, with the exact venues to be confirmed shortly.
In an official statement, the ACB said, "The three-match ODI series will begin on 6 November, with the second and third ODIs to follow on 9 and 11 November in the UAE. The venue details will be announced soon."
The matches, along with three T20Is and two Tests, were part of Afghanistan's original Future Tour Program (FTP) for July-August. However, due to the weather conditions in both the UAE and India—where Afghanistan often hosts its home fixtures—the series had to be postponed.
After discussions between both boards, it was agreed to go ahead with only the ODI leg of the series. These matches will be critical for both teams as they prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy, which takes place in Pakistan in February 2025.
