Former PMO secretary Salahuddin steps down from BAT Bangladesh board
Mohammad Salahuddin, former secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), stepped down as non-executive director of the British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh.
The board of the company accepted his resignation at a meeting on 25 September, according to sources at the BAT Bangladesh.
The multinational company also appointed its head of commercial, Numayer Alam, to the vacant position on the same date, which will be effective on 1 October, according to the company sources.
Salahuddin was the secretary of the PMO under the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina from December 2022. He is the former director general of the PMO, according to the company's annual report for 2023.
According to the report, he joined BAT Bangladesh in January 2023.
