Travel ban imposed on Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachhari for 23 days
Due to unavoidable circumstances, tourists have been requested to avoid travelling to the three hill districts between 8 and 31 October
A 23-day travel ban has been imposed on three hill districts of Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachhari, starting 8 October.
Shah Mujahid Uddin, deputy commissioner of Bandarban, confirmed this through a message sent to reporters today (6 October).
In his message, the DC mentioned that due to unavoidable circumstances, tourists have been requested to avoid travelling to Bandarban between 8 and 31 October.
He further clarified that the travel ban applies not only to Bandarban but also to all three hill districts.
Earlier, the local administration of Rangamati district discouraged travelling to Sajek during 25-27 September due to the prevailing conditions in the hill district.
The authorities later extended the advisory against tourist visits to Sajek until 30 September.
