Police arrest Hasina's principal secretary Nojibur Rahman
Police have arrested Nojibur Rahman, the principal secretary of the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, from Dhaka's Ramna area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman confirmed the development today (7 October).
However, he could not immediately clarify under which case Nojibur was arrested.
Rezaul Karim Mallick, the DMP's additional commissioner, told reporters the arrestee will be produced before a Dhaka court today.
Nazibur became NBR chairman and the secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD) in 2015.
Later, he was made the principal secretary to the PMO.
