Govt announces full list of 9-member commission to reform constitution
Professor Ali Riaz will lead the "Constitutional Reform Commission".
The government has announced the full list of the commission to carry out constitutional reforms comprising nine members.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard today (7 October).
Earlier on 3 October, the government established five new reform commissions aimed at making the electoral process, police administration, judiciary, anti-corruption watchdog, and public administration more accountable, efficient, neutral, and responsive to public needs.

Professor Ali Riaz will lead the "Constitutional Reform Commission". The other members include Professor Sumaiya Khair and Professor Muhammad Ekramul Haque from the Law Department of Dhaka University, Barrister Imran Siddique, Supreme Court lawyer Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister Moin Alam Firozi, writer Firoz Ahmed, human rights activist Md Mustain Billah, and student representative and special assistant to the chief adviser Md Mahfuz Alam.
Addressing the nation on 11 September, Chief Adviser Prof Yunus announced the formation of six commissions for reforms in the electoral system, police, judiciary, public administration, the constitution, and the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Initially, lawyer Shahdeen Malik was announced as the head of the commission, but later he was replaced by Professor Ali Riaz.
With this, the formal journey of the six commissions announced by the chief adviser has begun.
The notification states that the commission will start work from 6 October. It will consider all relevant opinions and submit a report to the chief adviser within the next 90 days.
