A case has been filed in Teknaf against former MP Abdur Rahman Bodi, his wife Shaheen Akhtar, and 73 other Awami League leaders and activists over attacks and shooting protesters during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Rafiq Bodi, son of Moktar Ahmad of the new Pallan area, filed the case with Teknaf Police Station last night (8 October).
An additional 400 unidentified people were also made accused in the case.
Teknaf Police Station OC Muhammad Gias Uddin confirmed the filing of the case and stated that efforts are underway to arrest the accused individuals.
On 20 August, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Abdur Rahman Bodi in an attempted murder case filed in Teknaf.
Bodi is a two-time Member of Parliament from Cox's Bazar-4 (Ukhiya-Teknaf) constituency. He was denied nomination in the December 2018 national election in the face of fierce criticism for his involvement in various illicit activities including yaba smuggling, according to media reports.
