Universal College Bangladesh hosts orientation for University of London students
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB) has organized an orientation program for parents and students enrolling in this year's intake for University of London (UoL) degrees offered at the UCB campus in Gulshan. UCB provides full three-year degrees in business, accounting, finance, and economics under the academic direction of the London School of Economics (LSE). Students with HSC, IB, AS, A, or O Levels are eligible for admission, which closes this week.
UCB collaborates with the University of London to provide Bangladeshi students the opportunity to pursue full UK degrees in Dhaka. The curriculum, teaching materials, and assessments are all designed by LSE, allowing students to study the same top-rated program as those in London. Degrees from UoL present valuable opportunities for Bangladeshi youth to build a solid foundation for their academic and professional careers. Graduates receive degree certificates from the University of London, enabling them to pursue Master's programs at highly reputed global universities. Additionally, students completing their UoL degree at UCB are eligible for scholarships to study for their Master's at LSE.
The orientation program was inaugurated by Professor Hew Gill, President & Provost of UCB, who welcomed students and parents. Dewan Yazdani, Senior Lecturer at UCB, provided an overview of the Business & Management, Accounting & Finance, Economics, and Finance degrees available from UoL. Shafik Waes, Deputy Registrar, explained key academic policies for students. The orientation then included presentations for students from Marzia Al-Hakeem, Student Support Head, Zebunessa Zeba, Student Services Executive, and Biplab Paul, IT Administration Executive. A separate session featured Professor Hew and Ms. Samia Salam, Parent Engagement Executive, discussing how parents are informed about their children's academic progress and important updates.
Professor Hew Gill stated, "At UCB, we emphasize that all our students in the UoL-LSE degree programs receive comprehensive mentorship, career guidance, and hands-on experience, essential for a well-rounded international education." He further explained, "The LSE curriculums are designed to enhance students' educational experience by providing the support and resources necessary for optimal academic and professional growth. All our faculty are approved by the LSE, and we employ small group teaching to create a personalized learning environment for every student. Our focus is on developing critical thinking and leadership skills that are particularly valuable in today's fast-evolving job market."
Admission for the UoL-LSE degree programs will continue until the end of this week, with a special scholarship examination session for HSC students. For more information, please visit UCB's official website.
