ACC sues ex-Samabaya Bank chairman Mohiuddin, wife
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sued Mohidduin Ahmed, former chairman of Samabaya Bank and his wife, Noorjahan Begum, with illegal wealth accumulation charges.
The case was filed today (16 October) at the ACC's Integrated District Office Dhaka-1 by Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam, who is also the plaintiff, ACC's Director General (Prevention) Md Akhtar Hossain told The Business Standard.
Akhtar Hossain informed that the case had been filed against them under sections 26(2) and 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.
According to ACC sources, Mohiuddin Ahmed is accused of concealing assets worth Tk100,008 and possessing illegally earned wealth amounting to Tk2.71 crore beyond his known income sources.
Noorjahan Begum is accused of concealing assets worth Tk14.7 lakh earned through dishonest means and possessing illegally earned wealth amounting to Tk1.2 crore beyond her known sources of income.
