Theatre Artistes Association of Dhaka formed to protect artistes
Theatre artistes have taken a step towards protecting their rights with the formation of the Theatre Artists Association of Dhaka (TAAD).
The organisation's founding members includes notable figures such as Reza Arif, Azad Abul Kalam, Faiz Zaheer, Toufiqul Islam Emon, Asadul Islam, Shamim Sagar, Kazi Roksana Ruma, and Saif Suman.
The association recently stated their goals and objectives through their Facebook page, which includes building a network among theatre workers in Dhaka and to protect their social welfare. They also aim to create a theatre archive and to establish funds for members in need of emergency assistance.

Reza Arif, founding member of TAAD and faculty member in the Department of Drama and Dramatics at Jahangirnagar University commented, "This organisation will work to protect the interests and rights of theatre artists. With TAAD, one of our goals is to establish a network among theatre artists on an individual level."
