Pakistan to penalise five aviation officials for facilitating people in getting licences
Pakistan's Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said that the country will ground 262 airline pilots whose credentials may have been falsified.
The country also initiated criminal proceedings and terminated 28 pilots for submitting fake college degrees, reports Khaleej Times.
The pilots in the line of fire included 141 from Pakistan International Airlines, nine from Air Blue and 10 from Serene Airline, said the minister on Friday.

The rest of the 262 belong to flying clubs or chartered plane services, he added.
The minister said all the airlines and the clubs had been conveyed that "Their credentials are dubious, and they shouldn't be allowed to fly."
He also said that five civil aviation officials will be penalised for aiding pilots in faking licences.
On June 25, Pakistan International Airlines said it would ground pilots with "dubious" licences.
