Al-Arafah Islami Bank appoints Kazi Mahmood Karim as Deputy Managing Director
Kazi Mahmood Karim has been promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. Prior to this promotion, he served as Senior Executive Vice President since 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his distinguished banking career, which began in 1989 at the former BCCI (O) Ltd. in Dhaka, as a Probationary Officer.
Mr. Karim's extensive career includes leadership roles at Eastern Bank, Southeast Bank, Prime Bank, and Prime Exchange Co. Ltd. in Singapore, providing him with a diverse skill set in both head office and branch operations. Over his 35-year tenure in the banking sector, he has developed expertise in various areas of banking operations and strategic management.
In addition to his practical experience, Kazi Mahmood Karim has pursued numerous training programs in banking and finance, and has participated in various seminars, workshops, and symposiums both domestically and internationally.
A graduate of Mirzapur Cadet College, he earned both his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) and Master of Social Science (MSS) degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
Mr. Karim's promotion reflects his exceptional contributions to the development of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and his continued commitment to excellence in the banking industry.
