Sheikh Mujib's photo removed from JU’s administrative building
Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at Jahangirnagar University (JU) removed the photo of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the university's administrative building today (14 November).
Students entered the council room of the building and took down the picture around 1:00pm.
Touhid Ahmed Siam, a coordinator for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement's JU unit, said, "We ousted fascist Hasina through the sacrifices of countless students. Sheikh Mujib had inspired fascism across the country. Bangladesh will no longer serve as a tribute to Mujib's ideology."
He went on to say, "Following the removal of Mujib's photo at the state level [Bangabhaban], we declared that his photo would not remain in Jahangirnagar University."
