NRB Bank PLC holds Annual Risk Conference 2024
NRB Bank PLC convened its Annual Risk Conference 2024 at the bank's Head Office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Managing Director Mr. Tarek Reaz Khan attended as the Chief Guest, while Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Mr. Md. Ali Akbar Faraji presided over the event.
The conference, themed "Don'ts in Risk Management", reflected the bank's commitment to fostering a robust culture of governance, business, and risk management in line with regulatory expectations.
The event highlighted the importance of early and effective risk assessment, management, and mitigation to ensure the bank's sustainable and resilient growth. Mr. Faraji underscored the value of cultivating a strong risk culture. DMDs Mr. Shakir Amin Chowdhury, Mr. Md. Shaheen Howlader, and Mr. Anwar Uddin discussed compliance, business, and anti-money laundering (AML) risk management, emphasising the importance of adhering to "don'ts" in mitigating these risks.

Core risk management division heads presented insights on potential high-risk areas, mitigation strategies, and vigilance in implementing core risk management practices.
Managing Director Mr. Tarek Reaz Khan remarked, "We aim to instil a risk-focused attitude throughout the organisation, encouraging proactive identification and mitigation of risks at the earliest stage."
The conference was attended by the senior management team, division heads, branch heads, and operations managers. Outside Dhaka, branch teams participated via a hybrid mode, ensuring broad engagement across the bank.
