Elif Shafak’s '10 Minutes 38 Seconds' to be adapted for the big screen
Elif Shafak's Booker-nominated novel '10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World' will be adapted into a feature film by Madrid-based ISB Films and Turkey's Limon Film. This marks the first film adaptation of Shafak's work.
The novel follows Tequila Leila, an Istanbul sex worker, who recalls vivid memories in the 10 minutes after her death, revealing a life of rejection, love, and resilience alongside five close friends who became her chosen family.
ISB Films, known for 'Norah', and Limon Film, creators of Netflix's Turkish series 'Avlu', are partnering to combine global expertise with Turkish storytelling.
