Altamis Nabil launches his newest release 'Let There Be Light' at this year’s Boi Mela
The book is based on the filmography of Zahir Raihan
Author Altamis Nabil has released his third book "Let There Be Light" at the Ekushey Boi Mela.
The book was unveiled yesterday through a lively launching ceremony attended by imminent guests such as Film Researcher & Photographer, Mir Shamsul Alam Baboo and drama personality Anisur Rahman Nantu among others, said a press release.
The book is based on the filmography of Zahir Raihan and is named after the ace filmmaker's unreleased dream project "Let There Be Light."
Altamis Nabil, the author of the book, gave a brief description about the book.
He said, "The name that is found at the top of the list of all-time best films of Bangladesh is 'Jibon Thekey Neya' and the name of Zahir Raihan inevitably comes in the list of the best filmmakers. However, apart from 'Jibon Thekey Neya', Zahir Raihan has a lot more great works in the pre-independence film world of Bangladesh."
"If this book can inform the new age readers and film lovers properly about Zahir Raihan, it will be considered a successful work," added Nabil
The book is written in Bangla and focuses on the process of filmmaking and direction of this multi-talented man. The research book is an attempt to bring all the films Zahir Raihan has made into one book and create an overall discussion for the general readers.
There is a QR code at the end of the book through which readers can watch Zahir Raihan's timeless movies.
The cover of "Let There Be Light" is designed by Sajjadul Islam Sayeem. The book is available at the stalls of Adee Prokashon (Suhrawardy Udyan, stall no. 123-124) at the book fair.
The book can also be purchased from the popular e-commerce site rokomari.com and in major bookstores across the country.
