Drake withdraws legal petition over 'Not Like Us' streaming claims
Drake has withdrawn his legal petition accusing Spotify and Universal Music Group (UMG) of artificially inflating streaming numbers for Kendrick Lamar's diss track, 'Not Like Us.'
Drake and his company, Frozen Moments, withdrew their pre-action request for the disclosure and preservation of documents from both entities. The move came after a meeting with representatives from the companies, with Spotify having no objection to the withdrawal, while UMG reserved its position.
The controversy began in November 2024, when Drake alleged that UMG used bots and payola to boost the song's popularity, claiming that it was being licensed at lower rates to Spotify.
UMG denied the allegations, while Spotify filed a legal objection, stating that no unusual arrangements had been made to promote the track.
