Tom Cruise performed for free at Olympics closing ceremony
Tom Cruise's stunt at the Olympics closing ceremony came at two conditions. The actor insisted on doing the entire stunt himself and took part in the event for free.
Casey Wasserman, president of the 2028 Los Angeles Games, shared Cruise's involvement during a CNBC x Boardroom: Game Plan panel.
According to Wasserman, Cruise descended from the roof of Paris's Stade de France, received the Olympic flag from Simone Biles and LA Mayor Karen Bass, then rode off on a motorbike to LA, where he transformed the Hollywood sign with the Olympic rings.
Cruise had hopped on a plane right after finishing 'Mission: Impossible' in London, and flew straight to Los Angeles to continue filming for the stunt.
Wasserman praised Cruise's dedication. "Every step of the way, (Cruise) got more involved and more engaged," he commented.
