2024/25 UCL playoffs draw: Manchester City and Real Madrid to collide yet again
The winner of these playoffs will meeet the top eight sides from the group stage who automatically advanced to the Round of 16.
The UEFA Champions League knockout phase is set for an exhilarating showdown as Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the upcoming playoffs for a spot in the Round of 16.
This clash of giants is one of the standout fixtures following the draw for the 2024/25 UCL playoffs, which was announced on 31 January.
The new format of the tournament has delivered plenty of drama, with 12 teams eliminated and 24 remaining in the competition. The top eight sides from the group stage automatically advanced to the Round of 16. These teams include:
- Liverpool
- Barcelona
- Arsenal
- Inter Milan
- Atlético Madrid
- Bayer Leverkusen
- Lille
- Aston Villa
The remaining 16 teams, who finished between 9th and 24th, will now face off in a two-legged playoff phase. The winners of these ties will then progress to the Round of 16 to face the group-stage leaders.

- AS Monaco vs Benfica (Winners to face Liverpool or Barcelona in the Round of 16)
- Juventus vs PSV
- Feyenoord vs AC Milan (Winners to face Arsenal or Inter Milan in the Round of 16)
- Manchester City vs Real Madrid
- Bayern Munich vs Celtic (Winners to face Atlético Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16)
- Atalanta vs Club Brugge
- Borussia Dortmund vs Sporting CP (Winners to face Lille or Aston Villa in the Round of 16)
