Afif can become one of the best all-rounders: Russell
Russell became the first-ever foreign captain to win the Bangladesh Premier League and his game-changing performances in the final and the second qualifier played a big role in getting him adjudged as the man-of-the-tournament.
Andre Russell, the captain of the Rajshahi Royals believes that Afif Hossain has what it takes to become a top allrounder.
"Afif can become one of the best all-rounders in the world. He's smart with his changes when he's bowling and he's got every shot in the book.," Russell said that the post-match press conference in Mirpur.
Russell became the first-ever foreign captain to win the Bangladesh Premier League and his game-changing performances in the final and the second qualifier played a big role in getting him adjudged as the man-of-the-tournament.
However, despite these performances, Russell has been left out of the Windies cricket squad since the end of the World Cup last year in England.
Russell though believes that he is ready and hopes that the selectors take notice of his performances.
On the hindsight, fitness and niggling injuries have been a constant problem for the 29-year-old all-rounder.
"It's not in my control. It's up to the selectors to decide if they want to select me or not. I'm always willing to play for the Windies and I always put them first," Russell concluded.
