Bangladesh unbeaten champions in Bangabandhu Cup Int’l Kabaddi
Arduzzaman Munshi of Bangladesh was adjudged the man of the match in the final while Tuhin Trofder of the champion team was named the best player of the tournament.
Host Bangladesh emerged unbeaten champions in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi tournament beating Kenya by 34-28 points with two creditable 'lona' in the final held today at Shaheed Noor Hossain volleyball stadium here.
The winners', however, trailed the first half by 18-10 points.
Arduzzaman Munshi of Bangladesh was adjudged the man of the match in the final while Tuhin Trofder of the champion team was named the best player of the tournament.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, MP, was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shofiqul Islam, Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) president and Rapid Action Battalion director general Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and tournament committee's chairman and BKF joint secretary and additional DIG of police Mozammel Haque were also present in the prize distribution ceremony.
Apart from host Bangladesh, Poland, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Kenya took part in the six-day meet, which was held marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of the country's independence.
