Bangladesh’s first international badminton umpire passes away in Guwahati

Nazib Ismail Russell, Bangladesh's first international badminton umpire, passed away in Guwahati, India, while officiating an international badminton tournament. He was 52 years old.
A member of the Badminton World Federation's panel of umpires, Nazib officiated at international tournaments across the globe almost every month. He was also a current executive committee member of the Bangladesh Badminton Federation.
An international badminton tournament is set to commence in Dhaka on 13 December, and the Bangladesh Badminton Federation was heavily reliant on Nazib's expertise. He played a key role in maintaining international connections for the federation. Many involved in the sport cannot envision hosting the event without him.
It is suspected that Nazib suffered a heart attack, as he had no known history of significant illness, according to those close to him. The Bangladesh Badminton Federation is currently making arrangements to bring back his body.
