BCB wants Vettori for a longer period
Bangladesh cricket’s governing body wants the spin expert for a longer period of time.
Bangladesh's spin consultant Daniel Vettori, works with the national team only during a series. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has to pay a hefty amount to get the service of the former Black Cap skipper.
Now, BCB wants to bring some changes to the agreement with Vettori. Bangladesh cricket's governing body wants the spin expert for a longer period of time.
"We want him for a longer period. We are working on his contract", confirmed BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Apparently, the board plans to get Vettori more involved with the local spinners during off-season too.
"He has no problem with the plan. He has a free schedule. His presence in the dressing room during an international fixture is also important for the national team. So, we have to make sure that we can get the best out of him" said Chowdhury.
Vettori started working with BCB, from July last year when he replaced Sunil Joshi. He opted out of the Pakistan tour citing security concerns, but will soon join the team for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
