Champions Trophy now in Dhaka, exhibition locations announced
The trophy reached Dhaka at 1:30 PM on Monday.
Due to the political complexities between India and Pakistan, the fate of the 2025 Champions Trophy remains uncertain, with the schedule and venues yet to be finalised. Amid this uncertainty, the ICC has launched the global tour of the tournament's elegant trophy. As part of this tour, the trophy has arrived in Bangladesh today.
The trophy reached Dhaka at 1:30 PM on Monday. While no formal activities were planned for the first day, exhibitions will begin on Tuesday. In the morning, the trophy will be presented to Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan. Later in the afternoon, the trophy will be taken to Cox's Bazar.
On Wednesday, the trophy will be on public display at Laboni Point Beach in Cox's Bazar (in front of the Seaside Conference Centre Urmi) from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. That evening, the trophy will return to Dhaka.
On Thursday, the trophy will be exhibited at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, where the public can view it from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On Friday, the trophy will be taken to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, where it will be accessible from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM for national male and female cricketers, former and current players, organisers, and journalists.
Following its visit to Bangladesh, the trophy will travel to South Africa. From there, it will tour Australia, New Zealand, and England before arriving in the host country, Pakistan.
Although there are plans to hold the tournament in February-March, India's objection to playing in Pakistan has delayed the finalisation of the venue and schedule. India has expressed unwillingness to play in its neighbouring country, leading to discussions of hosting some matches in the UAE or Sri Lanka under a hybrid model. However, no final decision has been reached yet.
