BCB set to work on the mindset of the cricketers for Test matches, says Nazmul
Bangladesh will be ready with a proper Test team within 18 months
After recent Test debacles against Afghanistan and India, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to work on the mental side of the game. Especially with the mindset of the cricketers. BCB President Nazmul Hasan thinks that Bangladesh will be ready with a proper Test team within 18 months.
"Almost all our T20 squad members were called up for the Test series in India. But the mindset is different. We need specialist players for a specialized Test team. Our team is lagging behind in this format. I think with the plan we have on our hands, we can build a strong Test squad in one and a half year.' Hasan said while talking to the media on Saturday.
The BCB chief also feels that the urge to be a Test player has to come from within, "We have under 14, 15 and 16 cricket. We have school cricket. There are a lot of cricketers in our country. But the urge to play Test cricket has to come from within. I have seen in India that they dedicate their life to cricket. Playing Ranji trophy is a huge deal for everyone. They follow strict rules and discipline. We certainly lack that." Said Hasan.
