Dhaka not giving up hopes yet
Sujon believes his team can go far if the players play according to their merit and ability.
Beximco Dhaka are not having the best time in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup. They lost their first three matches in the tournament before bagging their first victory over Fortune Barishal on Wednesday. And they currently are at the bottom of the table with two points. The tournament may prove even tougher ahead, but their coach, Khaled Mahmud Sujon is reluctant to give up hopes already.
Sujon believes his team can go far if the players play according to their merit and ability. He will be supporting them all through this tough journey, he said.
"We could not meet the expectations, our results say it for themselves. But I still want to believe in the team because I saw a lot of potential in them. I hope we can have better results in the upcoming matches," said The BCB director and former Bangladesh captain.
Dhaka had been in terrible form in the first three matches. But the win against Barishal came in handy and Sujon believes this will give the whole team a huge boost.
"The win was very important. We had to have some momentum back, and we got it. Yes, it was a nail-biter, but I'm really happy the way the boys played," added Sujon.
Pacer Robiul Islam Robi told the same thing during the post-match presentation on Wednesday. He hoped the victory against Barishal was just the beginning of their good run in the tournament.
"We hope this victory will be a catalyst for success in the coming days. As I said earlier, we needed a victory and one victory could change the scenario. So, we are expecting that we will come back strongly in the tournament," said the fast bowler.
Dhaka will be playing Minister Group Rajshahi next on Friday. On the first meeting, they lost to them by 2 runs after Mahedi Hasan's heroics.
