Dhawan ruled out of World Cup as Pant called in
Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the World Cup with a thumb injury, and Rishabh Pant has been called in to replace him.
Bad news for Indian fans, Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Rishabh Pant has been called in as his replacement.
Dhawan injured his thumb in India’s match against Australia, and primary reports expected him to miss the next two matches. But now reports have revealed that he will miss the rest of the tournament.
Rishabh Pant was lauded to be in the initial World Cup squad, but missed out on his place to Vijay Shankar. His explosive batting would add another dimension to the already brilliant Indian batting lineup, who will now have a more talented batsman on their hands to play at No.4.
India are yet to be beaten in this World Cup, winning three out of their four games, while the other one being a washout against New Zealand.
