West Indies went to lunch firmly in control of the second day of the Antigua Test, reaching 336-7 with Justin Greaves and Kemar Roach frustrating the Bangladeshi attack.
Greaves stood unbeaten on 63, while Roach provided solid support with 19 not out, steering the hosts past the 300-run mark after an early burst of wickets.
The day began with Hasan Mahmud giving Bangladesh an excellent start, striking in the very first over to dismiss Joshua Da Silva.
The batter, who resumed on 14, managed just 24 runs off 23 balls before edging behind.
Mahmud struck again shortly after, removing Alzarri Joseph to reduce the West Indies to 261-7 and momentarily boosting Bangladesh's chances.
However, Greaves, who had started the day on 11, found a determined partner in Roach. Together, the pair blunted the visitors' attack, steadily rebuilding the innings.
Greaves brought up his fifty in 88 balls, showing resilience against the disciplined bowling. Roach played a patient innings, frustrating the bowlers further as the West Indies crept closer to a commanding total.
Earlier, on the first day, the home side had reached 250-5, setting the stage for an intriguing second day. While Bangladesh struck early in the morning session, they struggled to break the partnership between Greaves and Roach, leaving the Tigers needing inspiration in the afternoon session to turn the match around.
